Rickard, security consultant

Rickard works as a security consultant to protect people in vulnerable positions. He does everything from reviewing and strengthening the protection of their homes and workplaces, advising on routines and social media, to assessing risk and assessing business trips or appearances. This is combined with operational services where it is a matter of securing the life of a person, for example during a meeting, a transport or by conducting security reconnaissance against homes, workplaces or schools. "It's important to help people become good at protecting themselves as well."

 

Rickard began his career as a professional soldier and served in Afghanistan, among other places. In 2010, he switched to working with personal protection for private companies, such as security companies, and has protected everything from former presidents, local politicians, artists, journalists, to threatened officials. In 2019, Rickard chose to apply for a job at Tempest Security.

There he learns to electronically sweep spaces after eavesdropping bugs, and use advanced equipment to be able to deliver better solutions to his clients.

 

Some people have personal protection every day because they are public or vulnerable government officials. Others have a previous threat or situation that makes them want help. "If someone is aggressive and wants to use force against another person, I'm there to stop it from happening. It feels important that I can help someone who is bad at it, scared or insecure. But in the first place, my work is about avoiding that we are even faced with such a situation. The most important thing is to risk assess and analyze. To plan so that the threat picture does not become too high. To avoid routines and thus make it as difficult as possible for a person to strike. ”

 

High flexibility and social skills

 

The position requires a high degree of flexibility and social competence. It sometimes takes a lot of traveling and work at inconvenient times. “Being able to work abroad is a big carrot for me. Working in other countries is extremely useful and educational. ” Rickard controls meeting places, maps important positions, collaborates with local abilities that have control of the area, and more.
